Energy Efficient Home Package – Ceiling Insulation - Training

This Department of Environment, Water Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) program comprises two parts and will run until December 2011:

Australian Government Ceiling Insulation program

The Homeowner Ceiling Insulation program was terminated on 19 February 2010.  All of the program's audit and compliance activities are continuing.

On 8 March 2010 the energy efficiency and renewable energy functions of the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts were transferred to the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE).

People with concerns about the safety of their insulation are encouraged to call 13 17 92 to arrange a safety inspection.

DCCEE will administer the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme which covers the installation of heat pumps, solar hot water panels and ceiling insulation. $1,000 rebates are available for the installation of solar hot water systems and $600 for heat pumps. $1,000 rebates will be available for ceiling insulation from 1 June 2010.

New registration requirements for insulation installers and training requirements for participants  will be announced prior to 1 June 2010, and Master Builders Australia will provide further details when available.
